reminiscing in nostalgia

today (okay so it was friday, but i started this entry on friday but just couldnt finish it so ..NEH) was a very interesting lunch
im not quite sure how the topic came about
but we were sum how able to get to the topic of
how the groups in our school hav changed
the people we hung out wif in yr 7 and stuff
how those two groups used hate each other and now theyre the 'closest buds'
how i didnt even know who the hell lisa was xD
how sum ppl where bestest frds wif certain ppl and how they dont even talk now >.< depressed ='(
yet some how this lead to THE TOPIC OF A...lunch TIME! xD

the past, the toys, we awesomeness of it all, the love we had for them and they tearful giving away of them all.. okay so maybe it wasnt quite tearful, but it brings us regret now?...kinda >.>"
but if you think about it.. seriously the toy designs have been getting worse and worse with every generation, or 'redesign'

eg. my little pony,
we grew up in the 2nd generation phase, probably the best one, it was realistic and the colours were attractive, and so wen the 3rd generation came out, we really couldnt help but feel disgusted despite the fact that they do in fact resemble the 1st generation more (but in my opinion the differences were still large enough for me to be able to clearly say i like the 1st ones better coz they werent as 'try hard wanna be cutesy') lol

eg.2 polly pocket (though already mentioned ..the details of how its changed? D=)
anyways it started of as these tiny hard plastic dolls which could bend in the middle to sit, that would live inside of these case about the size of your palm thus pocket sized though eventually they were discontinued, only to be released as fashion dolls which were about 1.5 times the size of your thumb, wif rubber clothes that you could change T.T leaving no resemblance wat so ever to the original

eg.3 strawberry shortcake
i think we were kinda born in between g1 and g2 for these, but looking bak g2 wasnt that different to g1, only a few slight changes, like curly hair instead of wat looks like dreads, but the 3rd generation that was re-released this year are HORRIBLE!! its like wat happened with polly pocket all over again D= fashionsta wanna be, with long straight pink-red hair instead of the cute lil orange-red bob it used to hav, i think the only thing thats the same is the fact that the hair smells like strawberries..or it should neway ..havnt seen the toys yet >.<>.<>.>"


eg. 4 diva stars
never really changed ..fine id admit..but their disappearence alone is a big enough change >.< but they really super duper cools =D but for one reason or another Mattel decieded that they had had enough of diva stars >=[ and also turns out that lisa used to hav one =D but she gave it away at the start of the year GRRRRRR RRRRR RRRRR T.T =( >.< did =)>.< but she gav it away just this holi D= siff u didnt give it to me :'( lol but yea...also MATTEL IS A LIAR!! their website said that was a diva stars page!! friggin get my hopes up that they were resold T.T but i guess not lols the page was just one of their old games :( no info no products just a lame old game =)

eg. 5 aqua pets aqua pets =) just hearing the name of these toys is enough to make me smile they were that cool they were these lil plastic figurines submerged in a water filled capsule and had fishing wire connected to its limbs, and when you press the buttons to 'feed' it or play wif it, it would dance along to the music xD aww awesomness, these toys hav various series, though instead of discontinuing the old designs, the variety of aqua pets to choose from would just increase =], and the design changes were really just new pets =] main design was still the same =D there were even ones made after popular characters ;) but eventually their make 'wild planet' actually had the nerve to replace it wif 'purse pals' T.T GRRRRRRRR gayness!!

(omfg amy ur right there was more T.T but as u can see i fixed it up >=) )

eg. 6 just to be listed and not detailed - carebears
these too hav faced the criticism of 'ugly redesign' i know this because, my cousin teresa, wen she first came to australia (coincidentally when the redesign was first releashed) searched and searched for places where she could by vintage carebears claiming that the new ones were ugly ..and coz hk doesnt sell second hand stuff much lol, guess she really took advantage of the moment, though i personally dont see much of a difference (ohh and wat do u know i just read, that the toys hav actually been re-released twice and i didnt even notice the difference) but wiki did say that in 2002 during the 1st relaunch the gender of funshine bear changed, champ bear changed colour a couple changed their symbols

on the other hand
there hav been toys that hav survived the ages with little change and continued to live in the glitz and glamour of popularity lol
perhaps it was their originality? simplicity for sum, or ..ppl are just weird enough to like it all this time lol
but i like them too =)
they include the original and the best of lego gotta love those lego ppl =D

barbie though it has changed, it was for the better like they way how it was wayy anorexic b4 wif a way to slim waist and all lols and the face is prettier too now =) though i would love to hav an original barbie, i think i did wen i was lil but i thought it was fake and gave it away =(
but im still content coz i got a aus produced doll that was never released in aus, through a fmly frd that used to work there =D yayness!

and of course! TAMAGOTCHI!!! ehehe these were cool, shame i was too dumb to appreciate them wen i was lil, coz wen my bro got a original tama, i got a pink tama wannabe instead coz i HAD to hav everything pink!, if it wasnt pink i wouldnt want *sighs* stupidity of being 4 =(

but these toys hav changed alot over the years wif the various version, thought the pets looked a lot cuter on cartoon than they did in the actual devise due to their limited black and white pixal screen, which is why wen the colour version came out while i was in japan, i got soooo deliously happy coz they actually looked like wat the cartoons claimed them to look like
though this version was fat and bulky i still REALLY wanted it, shame it was during the time of economic crisis and would hav felt too guilty had i of brought it, for this same reason i didnt end up getting the mp3 i wanted T.T, also coz my host fmly wouldnt let me buy things GRRRR but yes, colour one is AWESOME but never came out in aus =[ or any other country for that matter T.T soo regret not getting now >.<>.<


and DONE!! i finished! at long last the end of my 3day rant lol

lol okay forgot about one special toy =)..maybe two actually
well 1st is FURBY!! ahaha gotta love them
those electronic bird like toys im sure we all wanted one
i hav a baby original sumwhere in my closet=) though it has a bald spot from my brother trying to tickle its tummy to hard wen i 1st got it =(
but still super CUTE! yet SUPER lol always talking, too sensitive to movement and light, aka NEVER shuts up..yet lovable? :s
but this toy too got discontinued, but eventually return wif a much uglier design =(, it was similar yet ugly lol AND bigger ;)

now the second one that i just thought of, is baby born, a baby like doll?
it cried, it pooped, it peed, it ate it drank lol
kids bak then took these very seriously, though they still swang it around by the arm? D=
but it was funny, coz i remember my friend cara from bak in primary school, were serious enough to get its ears pieced for it lol xD but yea.. never had one coz parents deemed it dumb and expensive, although it did look cool lols, and..yea... the fad kinda faded, though i do think they are still available for sale now?


OHHH and beanie kids ;) australian exclusive lols never really died from wat i know, though it did fade as we grew older, but wif me being the youngest female relative in aus, im not really sure about its popularity among primary school kids these day..though i bet it cant hav been as strong as it was for my year xD lols those bears were AWESOME lols

and den theres smelly bellys just a minor collectors toy from wen we were lil limited edition, though i think about 3 series came out, but since each design had a diff smell and the smells varied, were a boxed secret till you brought it and opened it so, ... main design didnt really change

today sumthing very stupid happened
perhaps it was deserved
but today
i had a free last period and so i told my mum to pick me up early today so i can go have red rooster before tuition
and so as i was walking out of the school after i had packed my bag
i heard my name be called
and there was a smelly danny
he was on his way to chemistry the class that i should be in had i not hav dropped it a week ago =D
and he asked 'where are you going' to which i replied simply by telling him that i go eat food when he asked y he didnt get food. so i went 'i get food in my FREEwhile u suffer in CHEM'
he den wen 'yea well im tall' and put his elbow on my head ! grrrr (no i am not short! im normal..for an asian..but he's asian too! so its normal! grrrr just coz he guy =[)
but yes my reaction was to kick him
and his reflex was to grabb my foot which resulted in my falling to the ground which then made my hand sting =[[ eww stinging pain hurts =[
so karma? no karma? undeserved? deserved? danny's an ass? or me?

wow..i feel like an idiot
i for got about the last page of the revision paper while studying for the jap test today
and it would hav been okay had the ONE kanji i had trouble wif not hav been on that page T.T
saddest part is, i used to know how to write that back when i was still in japan GAHHH depressing!
(see lisa i can bitch about test too ;] )
but yea today i got a new bruise coz i got whacked in the hand by my frds watch and she didnt even say sorry =[ said my hand shouldnt have been there D=
bruises hurt!

THERE WAS A CREEPY GUY AT THE STATION TODAY!!! creepy as in even creepier than YI FU creepy lols
i was at the bus stop waiting for my mum to pick me up, wif my phone backed away in my bag from long b4 i got off the bus, and no watch on
but yes this chubby, fobby middle-aged guy wearing a watch while holding his phone walks over from the electronic sign that says the time and the arrival times of the next bus, manages to come up to me and ask from the time -.- i mean.. major wtf much?

salmon

did you know? salmon are truly amazing creatures
they travel against the flow of the river just to harvest their eggs or roe or watever u want to call them
they do all that just for the sake of their offspring, many of which dont survive coz we humans eat them all (but they are quite nice >.<)
but fact remains that they hav the ability to go against the flow, an ability that i will always envy
should i have had that ability i would hav avoided alot the trouble that i have managed to get myself into. i would have been able to hav get myself out of situations where others shift the blame onto me, i would hav been able to do my further hw instead of gossiping wif lisa last night xD ahh well it was fun
and i would hav been able to avoid the sticky situation with a certain someone, had i off been able to go against the flow, even just follow the plan of talking it out.. but i guess.. fings will just hav to be for now
